(More customer reviews)Works well. Kind of loud but it may be common among the electrical pasta machines. One important thing the instruction manual failed to mentioned. In order to remove the paddle inside the kneader, after you twist the black knob to the correct position, the manual failed to mention you need to pull out the knob completely in order to remove the kneading paddle. Also, you can not follow the pasta recipe exactly. I tried to do that and the dough came out dry and crumbly. Try 400g with 5 large eggs first. And then add a little bit of flour if the dough is too wet. Use Marcato's recipes as guideline. What makes this pasta machine special is the longer 8" dough roller. Look up pasta making books to see the procedures involved in making pasta. The instruction from Marcato is not very detailed. The only thing that is accurate is to knead the dough for 5 minutes. Another minor issue is the cleaning process. The kneading machine compartment is not removable. Also the orange lid is not removable. So you will have to wipe it to clean it. It really makes wonderful tasting pasta. Reliability is to be determined. I will update once I tried the 8" dough roller and the pizza cutter. Look online to see who has the best pricing on this particular model. For people who own a kitchenaid mixer, buying this marcato model with the kneading machine may not be necessary. Although I believe this kneader is more of a true kneader because I believe you may have to knead 10-15min on a kitchenaid mixer vs using this Marcato Kneader. The measuring cup is nice but not essential. I used the flour part of the measuring cup only. It is unnecessary to crack the eggs and drop them into the egg compartment part. You can just crack the eggs and drop them directly into the kneader. The motor seems to give decent speed to cut the dough sheet into pasta. There are optional pasta cutting attachment available but they are like $60 each.
UPDATE: Do not put more than 400g of flour. Actually 300g is ideal because if you put to much inside the kneader, the lid will pop open. When the lid pops open, the machine stops from kneading. 300g of flour will get you enough pasta for 4 servings.
